Privacy Policy

Zonas is built around a simple idea: your heart rate data should stay on your device.

The short version is this: I do not collect, store, sell, or share your data on my own servers.

What Zonas Does Not Collect

The Zonas app does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or location.

The Zonas app also does not use:

• analytics services
• ad networks
• tracking tools
• crash reporting services
• cloud storage for your health or workout data

What Stays on Your Device

Zonas processes data locally on your device, including:

• heart rate samples received from your Bluetooth monitor or Apple Watch
• heart rate zone calculations
• workout sessions and their duration
• weekly cardio goal progress
• app preferences and settings

This data stays on your device and within Apple Health. I do not have access to it.

Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitors

Zonas uses Bluetooth Low Energy to connect to external heart rate monitors such as chest straps and arm bands. The connection is direct between your device and the monitor. No data from that connection is sent to me or to any external server.

Device information such as the name of your heart rate monitor is used only to display it in the app. It is not collected or stored outside your device.

Apple Health and Apple Watch

Zonas reads and writes data through Apple HealthKit with your permission.

Zonas may read:

• heart rate
• resting heart rate
• active energy burned
• date of birth (to calculate max heart rate)
• workout history

Zonas may write:

• heart rate samples recorded during workouts
• completed workout sessions

This data is stored in Apple Health on your device and managed by Apple’s privacy framework. I do not receive it. Apple’s privacy policy applies to data stored in Apple Health: apple.com/legal/privacy

If you use the Apple Watch companion app, workout sessions run on the Watch and mirror to your iPhone through Apple’s systems. That data stays within Apple Health on your devices.

Payments

All payments, subscriptions, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store. I do not receive or store your payment details. Apple’s privacy policy applies to those transactions: apple.com/legal/privacy

Website Analytics

The Zonas website, separate from the app, uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from.

Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless, sets no identifiers, and collects no personal data. The site uses it only for aggregate page metrics such as page views and referrers. Because the website analytics are cookieless and do not collect personal data, the site does not show a consent banner.

No website analytics data is sold or shared, and the app itself still collects nothing.

Support Messages

If you contact me by email, I receive the information you choose to send, such as your message, email address, and app context. This is used only to respond to support requests.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains in Apple Health and in the app’s local storage until you delete it or remove the app.

If you uninstall Zonas, its local preferences are deleted from your device. Workout data saved to Apple Health stays in Apple Health until you delete it there.

I cannot recover any of your data because I do not have access to it.

Your Control

Because I do not keep a server-side copy of your data:

• I cannot view your workouts or heart rate history
• I cannot edit or delete your data for you
• I cannot recover deleted data for you

You remain in full control of the data stored by the app and by Apple Health on your device.

Children’s Privacy

Zonas does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If I do, I will update the date at the top of this page.
